Small, beautiful ways that my community showed up Small, beautiful ways that my community showed up for me this past week & helped me stay afloat. What’s one small way you can show solidarity this week?
In a culture of erasure, dots don’t connect them In a culture of erasure, dots don’t connect themselves.

It’s been getting REAL out here, y’all! If we’re not actively making connections between then & now, we’re missing all the complex ways that racism and anti-Blackness persist (including many other examples not included here- I didn’t make every possible connection on these graphics either!)

In today’s culture, from classrooms to living rooms, we must fight to connect the dots. The future depends on it.

Currently watching the 1619 Project by @nikolehannahjones and she’s connecting 👏🏾 some 👏🏾DOTS 👏🏾 of her own, ok?? Required viewing!

** Also, don’t mistake my inclusion of racism at the bottom to mean that it’s a thing of the past - according to the graphic & the connecting of the dots, it informs all the issues of today that I included here.
When leaders are more concerned with power than pr When leaders are more concerned with power than protecting the vulnerable, justice will always take a back seat.

“Power without love is reckless and abusive, and love without power is sentimental and anemic.

Power at its best is love implementing the demands of justice, and justice at its best is power correcting everything that stands against love.” - MLK Jr 💙
New headshots mean new projects coming soon!! And New headshots mean new projects coming soon!! And a happy Dani! 🎉

I haven’t done an intro in over a year at least, so here are 10 facts about me that you may or may not know! Let me know if we have anything in common!!

1. I’m an illustrator, graphic designer, speaker, & consultant. I talk about anti-racism, creative entrepreneurship, & living a life of good work. Justice ain’t a trend for me so I take breaks when needed & I’m often very frustrated but this is gonna be my life’s work 🤷🏾‍♀️

2. I’m a 2023 bride!! I’m in love and getting married in March to my best friend in the whole world.

3. I found out in therapy this month that I have adult ADHD. It explains so much. So there’s that.

4. I’m Disney-obsessed. They’re my #1 dream client. My favorite movie is Monsters Inc!

5. I watch video game play-throughs in my free time sometimes 🎮 I like thrillers and the ones where you choose your own path/make decisions under pressure!!

6. My biggest pet peeve is slow, wet chewing, where I can hear everything going on in ya mouth 😂 just horrible.

7. After years of recovering from spiritual abuse from a church system, I’ve finally found a new church home. We thank God.

8. I closed my shop last year, and while it was a lil sad, it was also the best decision I could’ve made for myself. I plan to revisit it this year 😉

9. I LOVE period pieces and historical dramas. Bonus points if racism is completely ignored and I can bask in the glory of Black people in power. Bridgerton season 2 had me GASPING

10. I’ve been working on my biggest project ever for months and months and I think I can finally share about it next month! YAY!

Ok I think we are all caught up now 😊 thanks for being here!

Choose a spine that speaks to you, and swipe to ge Choose a spine that speaks to you, and swipe to get a full work by Dr. King to sit with this week. Feel free to share what sticks out to you in the comments! 📚 I’ve linked to all of the full works in my bio.

Dr. King’s work is both a challenge and a healing balm. Yes, many people reduce this day to quotes… but many others genuinely want to be reminded that justice isn’t completely elusive and change is still possible.

Whether you’re disappointed with the state of racial justice in 2023 or you’ve grown complacent and cold within recent years, there’s something in his work and words for all of us. Spend time sitting with some of it. Read in context, in its entirety. Realign. Renew your commitments. Bring it to life in your daily journey.

It all still matters. 🖤
