The pursuit of peace doesn’t have to mean that w The pursuit of peace doesn’t have to mean that we distance ourselves from the injustices our world faces. The truest peace is found in presence: leaning into discomfort, seeking togetherness, and pressing forward for the good of us all. Remembering our ultimate hope, and that we are never alone. May this holiday season remind us of this truth. ✨

Seek peace in its truest form. Not the appearance of peace that comes from closing your heart to the world and its troubles. Peace is not found in absence, but in presence.

To Maya Angelou, it is “not just the absence of war,” but “harmony of spirit, security for our beloveds.” To Dr. King, it is not “a negative peace, which is the absence of tension,” but a “positive peace, which is the presence of justice.”

And to a newborn king, it is not just the stillness of a silent night, but Immanuel- God with us- the promise of peace on earth, and goodwill to men.

It’s through the cultivation of equity that true It’s through the cultivation of equity that true diversity can blossom 🌺

For a while, I operated under a diversity-focused mindset, thinking if we just got more BIPOC in predominantly-white spaces, it would solve a lot of race-related issues in organizations I found myself a part of.

Instead, I noticed an issue: the focus on diversity became largely performative. Members of underrepresented communities would join a team - and find themselves still faced with discrimination, exclusion, and discomfort. 🥴

When brought about in this way (without true structural change to back it up), diversity efforts largely fall flat.

In order for true change to take place, the focus has to shift from a diversity-focused mindset of “getting more people of color in here” to an equity-focused mindset of “how can we change our current processes and remove barriers to allow for diversity- in all forms- to flourish here.” ✨

When we adopt an equity-focused mindset, we attack imbalances at the root and pave the way to inclusion & belonging - creating an equitable space where all people truly feel welcome, heard, and protected.

And in an environment like that, diversity has room to bloom 🌱☺️
HELLO I am just posting this to say thank you!!!!! HELLO I am just posting this to say thank you!!!!!! 😫❤️ As always, you all helped this launch with @bonfire to drastically exceed my expectations!!! Y’all always go so hard for me!!!

All my life, I’ve viewed positive clothes as an opportunity to be a walking billboard of LIGHT in a world that can feel so dark sometimes, and to get to make some for you and share them with you is a feeling I can’t explain 😭

These friends go back into the vault tonight at MIDNIGHT when the campaign ends (you’ve still got a lil time- link in bio!!), and soon they’ll hit the streets and arrive at your homes 🎉 When that happens, I only have one request:

SEND. ME. PICS. 🥰🥰🥰

All my love to you!!! Next stop: THE PRINT SHOP!! 🎈

UPDATE: I went to end these campaigns and y’all kept ordering??? So it started another batch 😂 only two designs are still available - 4 more days and THAT’S IT OK?!?? *Note: shipping in time for Christmas is not guaranteed for this second batch.*
‘Tis the season for philanthropic equity, am I r ‘Tis the season for philanthropic equity, am I right!?!?? 🎁 Drop the name of a black-owned biz or black-led org that you love below!!

It’s Giving Tuesday and the first day of December, and I can’t think of a better time to focus on the importance of mission-minded spending as we jump into a season of giving!! 💰

I heard this quote a while back (and was recently reminded of it by @michellekimkim), and I love how tangible this is. It’s one thing to put your money where your mouth is - holding yourself accountable to the words you say. It’s another thing to put your money where your heart is - allowing your spending (money, time, resources) to align with the values you hold most dear.

Whether it’s through supporting Black-led organizations (which are known to be vastly underfunded in the philanthropic space), purchasing refugee-made goods, or supporting your local small business, we have an opportunity this season to make a huge difference with our giving in incredible ways, and I think that’s really exciting!! ✨

To say that this year has been a hard one is quite the understatement, but one can’t deny the healing power of generosity (it’s scientifically-proven, y’all!) and the joy that comes from doing what we can to improve our communities - through giving or other ways you’re able to provide support. Happy December! ❤️❤️❤️
