I need your help! 🎈 As many of you already know, steps are being taken across the country to eliminate diversity, equity, & inclusion offices and programs in workplaces and colleges. I'm working on a project to highlight all of the GOOD that these programs do and would love to hear from you! I'm looking for all sorts of answers to the question: Why DEI? Examples of helpful responses include: 👉🏾 People currently holding (or have recently held) DEI positions and have seen the positive effects it's had in the workplace 👉🏾 Students who find comfort and connection in DEI offices and programs on campus 👉🏾 People who have been positively affected by DEI-related lectures, training, or workshops ... or general answers as to why DEI matters! Thank you so much! I can't wait to read through your responses! I may also reach out to some of you to explore your answers a little further in a super fun way ☻
Unity isn’t synonymous with togetherness. We can Unity isn’t synonymous with togetherness. We can all be in the same book and yet not be on the same page 📖 Unity also isn’t a guaranteed result of diversity. We can all be in the same boat and yet want to sail in different directions (or even worse–some could want to sink the ship) 🛶 Unity for change involves different people using different methods–yet moving in the same direction! Towards progress 🤗➡️ Yes, it’s normal to disagree on smaller things from time to time, but at the end of the day, unity relies on shared values and a common goal.

Today’s a great day to check in with your heart Today’s a great day to check in with your heart and see if there’s room for compassion ❤️‍🔥 Thank you so much for all the love on yesterday’s announcement! I chose to anchor my first book on the concept of love (and this very poem I wrote a few years ago) because your heart is like a well–everything you do flows from it. When we cling tightly to all that is good & right & just, our good work in response will be a natural outflow. Even today, the headlines are filled with story after story of violence, loss, racism, and fear. It seems easier to close our hearts to the world and it’s troubles–but keeping your heart open makes way for transformative action to flow out.
